Mai.Mai is a work team active from 2015 in Milan.
The main field of the team is audio-visual languages research. The works, expressed by video and audio installation forms, are the result of a teamwork made up of different visions, personalities and skills joined together to design new forms, new physical, mental and conceptual spaces. Sounds, images, movements, colors... are the main letters of the Mai.Mai alphabet which has at his heart not only the vision/revelation of territories and spaces more or less decoded up to now. Mai.Mai wants to offer the experience of the artwork showed: we would like that our environments would be lived, investigated and embraced in the same way as our flats, buildings, residences, churches, crypts, squares... are. We would like to offer places that create sensations, where new thoughts can born. But what we want most is to share these experiences, even though we believe that the vision and listen of what we display is in itself a shared image to be lived as the city we are part of.
Mai.Mai employs known languages and propose an occasion of experimentation... enclosing and re-elaborating living places to create new interpretative and contemplative experiences.
What do we believe in? Change, passing, innovation, research, discovery, demolition and rebirth. We have a name but we do not consider it a label. A name to be known by but not to define ourselves. We won't do that.. never, ever... Mai.Mai!
